Artist Spotlight: Yu Nagaba

I've been following Yu Nagaba's work for a while now but I honestly didn't know a whole lot about him until I started digging around and found this video interview he did on YouTube. When you look at his illustrations and take note of the style, its so very simplistic, elegant and filled with personality—something that I myself try to encompass in my own doodles as well.

It's very interesting, in the interview linked above, he mentioned how he was thinking to himself whether he wanted to be an artist or an illustrator? A lot of people don't realize that a lot of creatives struggle with things as simple as titles such as artist, illustrator, designer, commercial artist, etc. Yu decided that he was going to be an illustrator and worked with companies like Popeye—a Japanese men's fashion magazine—to create illustrations for clothing, covers and even murals.

Take a moment to be inspired with your own work and look at these amazing creations by Yu Nagaba.
